Three intact safety vests are transformed by being inverted, their edges folded and rolled without being cut, and then stitched into a new form. They’re dusted with the same ancient goethite golden ochre found on the shrouds excavated from the deeply buried material remains of the ‘Midas Mound’ tomb in Phrygia; and perfumed with luxurious, animalic oudh also known as ‘liquid gold’ the sillage of which changes and slides along the hedonic scale of odour experience.
Dust explores metamorphosis and the transmogrification of authoritative systems across historical epochs, serving as a reminder of the contingent nature of power.
