Monday 2nd November : dialogue, technology and smell sampling.

We decided to make Crossing Wires a working interactive space for the initial phase of our collaboration. We’ll use using dialogue, technology and smell sampling. We received notice that our application for funding from CNZ and Morst was successful for the 1st phase of our project in October.

Its official open day after building and preparing the space from 1st Nov.

Today is adjustment day in our new working space. We’re finishing off the last little bits of painting, and filling the bottles with coloured water. The projector isn’t bright enough, its competing with a white room and daylight.

Many thanks and appreciation to the following people for their valuable assistance : Roch Sullivan for his generosity in making the space available to us to set up and build at the premises  for weeks in advance, Richard B for his superb carpentry, the Plant and Food Design Team for their help with great design, Leah Tooman for assistance with preparation and help in setting up the lab equipment, Katrina, Nika Maltseva and Epson NZ, Nelson Rayner for setting up this blog for us( check out his website www.willworkforfood.co.nz/spiff ), Mike Rush and Roy Davies for lending us their projectors; Dawn Hutchesson and CoLab, Tracey Mckay and Les Mills, Simon Dickens and Faster Fitness, David Merritt for helping with cabling, our families,  friends, and the scientists at conference for donating their smell to the project.

Thanks to Barbara Holloway, Precinct Manager, The K Rd Business Association, Alex Swney chief executive Heart of Auckland, Creative New Zealand, MORST, Plant and Food.
