The Crossing Wires Lab is the very 1st stage of Plume by Raewyn Turner and Dr Richard Newcomb

Crossing Wires is a laboratory installation running for 3 weeks : November 2nd to 22nd.

The laboratory will take place in a shop front window in a busy part of town, providing a window into the seldom seen world of the science laboratory, blended with performance exhibition art.

Scientist, Dr Richard Newcomb has research interests in olfaction in both humans and insects, and in ways of comparing these different biological systems to address how they have evolved. Raewyn Turner is a practicing artist exploring extrasensory and subsensory plant-animal-human communication.

Over the next three weeks we intend to process collected raw material to obtain olfactory samples representative of the essence of humans currently walking on the earth.

Crossing Wires is a fusion of their two worlds where science meets art and the boundaries between each dissolve.
